If You Like The Summer I Turned Pretty…

Box set of The Complete Summer I Turned Pretty books, in a aqua case decorated with sea shells

Blog reader Lindsay B. asked me for recommendations for her 13-year-old who loves The Summer I Turned Pretty trilogy by Jenny Han (author of To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before). In those books, Belly spends her summers at the beach with her mother and her mom’s best friend and sons. The love triangle is inevitable!

Below are my suggestions for Lindsay’s kid to check out — other YA romances that also touch on the challenges that teens face, including prejudice, parental pressure, and mortality.
